Dr. Jerry Tan is an internationally recognized dermatologist, researcher, and developer of validated clinical outcome instruments used to measure disease severity, quality of life, and treatment outcomes in dermatology. His instruments have been utilized by academic investigators, research institutions, and industry sponsors in clinical studies and outcomes research programs worldwide.
Selected instruments are available for licensing, translation, electronic implementation, and research use. Inquiries regarding collaboration, clinical trials, and outcomes research applications are welcome.
CASS (Comprehensive Acne Severity Scale)
Licensed for academic use by Penn State; used in a study at the Centre of Evidence Based Dermatology, School of Medicine, University of Nottingham, UK; licensing discussions are in progress.

Dr. Jerry Tan developed and authored CASS and SCAR-S and retains the rights necessary to license these instruments. He also co-developed and co-authored COMPAQ and HISQOL. Use, translation, adaptation, or electronic implementation requires prior written authorization.
Dr. Tan provides project-specific guidance on instrument selection, licensing, scoring, translation review, cultural adaptation, electronic implementation, and preservation of measurement integrity.
